Tata BlueScope Steel is a joint venture between Tata Steel and BlueScope Steel, an Australian company. They specialize in manufacturing coated steel products, including pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) and galvanized iron (GI) coils.
PPGL stands for Pre-Painted Galvalume, while GL stands for Galvalume. Galvalume is a type of coated steel product that is made by coating steel with a mixture of zinc, aluminum, and silicon. It provides enhanced corrosion resistance compared to traditional galvanized steel.
PPGL coils are pre-painted coils made from Galvalume steel. These coils are coated with a layer of paint before being formed into coils. This pre-painting process adds an additional layer of protection against corrosion and also allows for a wide range of aesthetic options.
GL coils, on the other hand, are coils made from Galvalume steel but are not pre-painted. They are coated with the Galvalume coating only, providing corrosion resistance without any additional paint layer.
